When I started my new job as editor of Mumsnet, West Sussex one of my main goals was to explore new local attractions, buy more local food and support local businesses as best as I could. I have been buying Toby Tiger clothes from their store in Brighton since my eldest was born (now five). Their colours are bright, their patterns are fun and I absolutely love their raincoats.
One of the first things that I bought for my eldest son was a pair of dinosaur welly boots (shown on model below). They came in a clear childs rucksack that is still used today for the kids to take their toys to the park. The wellies have survived two boys and are soon to be used by my youngest. We are currently using the dinosaur raincoat (shown below) on the middle child and it certainly will be in great conditon for number three! The colours that they use are bold and I love the touches such as different coloured seams on the cuffs and ankles. There are not many brands who produce clothes that sustain themselves through one, even two children and I have been really impressed with how well they wash and last.
Even though I have been buying from Toby Tiger for a few years I hadn’t looked into the background and was very pleased to find that it is a business local to Sussex. Founded in 1998, Toby Tiger is the creation of Zoe Mellor. Her vision for the company grew from wanting her own children to be dressed as children in bold, simple, comfortable yet stylish clothes. They have been leading the way in ethical, colourful and playful childrenswear for the last 16 years and their ever growing range of jersey wear is certified 100% organic cotton.
It may be chilly outside this week but Summer is just around the corner and Toby Tiger have just launched their 100% organic SS15 range. They have some super cute new designs including soft sleepsuits, playful t-shirts, beautiful printed dresses and some brand new, incredibly practical, colourful reversible trousers (I have a pair of these for my 10 month old (see below); they are so soft and look very comfy).
